Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using HootDM’s website, web application, or Chrome extension (together, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. Description of service

HootDM is a LinkedIn outreach automation platform. It helps you source leads, run automated connection-request and messaging sequences through your own LinkedIn session via a Chrome extension, and track outcomes. HootDM is provided on a subscription basis, with a free trial available to new accounts.

3. Account registration & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information.

4. Your LinkedIn account & compliance responsibility

HootDM automates actions on LinkedIn on your behalf, through your own logged-in session. Automating activity on LinkedIn — with HootDM or any similar tool — is not something LinkedIn’s own User Agreement explicitly permits, and using it carries an inherent risk that LinkedIn could restrict, limit, or terminate your account. HootDM is built to pace activity conservatively to reduce this risk (see our Safety & account protection page), but we cannot and do not guarantee that your LinkedIn account will never be flagged, restricted, or banned as a result of using the Service.

You are solely responsible for your decision to use LinkedIn automation tooling on your own account and for any consequences to your LinkedIn account that result from it. You confirm that you have the right to use the LinkedIn account you connect to HootDM and that doing so does not violate any separate agreement you have with your employer or LinkedIn.

5. Subscription plans, billing & renewal

HootDM offers two paid plans, Starter and Pro, billed monthly or yearly, in Indian Rupees (INR). Current pricing is shown on our Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. Payments are processed by Razorpay; by subscribing, you also agree to Razorpay’s applicable terms for payment processing. You can view your billing history and cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing; cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law.

6. Free trial

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with reduced usage limits, no credit card required. We may change trial length or terms for future signups at our discretion; changes won’t retroactively shorten a trial already in progress.

7. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Send unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or fraudulent messages;
• Scrape or source leads for purposes unrelated to your own legitimate outreach;
• Attempt to circumvent the Service’s pacing, rate-limiting, or quota mechanisms;
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own product;
• Interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service’s infrastructure;
• Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law, including data protection and anti-spam regulations in your jurisdiction.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by HootDM and protected by intellectual property law. Subscribing grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own outreach — it doesn’t transfer ownership of any underlying technology to you.

9. Your content & data

You retain ownership of the lead lists, message templates, and other content you create or upload to the Service. You grant us the limited right to store, process, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the Service on your behalf. You’re responsible for having the right to source and contact the leads you add to HootDM.

10. Service availability & modifications

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access — maintenance, LinkedIn-side changes, or unforeseen issues may cause temporary downtime. We may modify or discontinue features of the Service over time; we’ll aim to give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid functionality.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that outreach performed through the Service will produce any particular result, or that your LinkedIn account will be free from restriction.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HootDM’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the one month preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of business, data, or LinkedIn account access.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold HootDM harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights (including LinkedIn’s terms or a lead’s data protection rights).

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, including the prohibited uses above, or if required to comply with law.

15. Governing law & dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through a notice in the Service before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
